The Attack control is perfect for setting the envelope filter speed allowing you to dial in warbly funk and poppy plinks or anything in between and the Threshold control allows you to set the sensitivity of the filter. The Range control gives you 12 different frequency ranges all the way from low frequency rumble to high frequency squeak and very vocal-ish midrange sweeps. The WMD Super Fatman is more than just a standard envelope follower. The addition of the LFO circuit with the Source control allows you to blend the envelope follower with the onboard LFO or an external input. Using the LFO creates wonderfully dynamic envelope filtering with a sequencer type of effect for crazy arpeggios and super funky runs. The Feedback control is great to tailor the final sound by controlling how much of the envelope is present in the final output stage. The WMD Super Fatman also takes care of any issues with volume by adding internal trim pots for gain on both the wet and dry signal so you can match it to your amplifier’s output.
